Injection Warranty Terms
Most
but not all elm trees treated by Top Notch Treecare have a warranty.
All warranty considerations are written on the original proposal
and on the delivery ticket the day that the injection is performed.
There are several reasons for warranty exclusions:
• condition of the root flare
• undetermined disease status of the tree
• proximity to diseased trees
• confirmed past or present infection
Any
elm whose condition allows a warranty, and is treated during
the 2008 growing season will be free of disease symptoms until
December 31, 2010. If symptoms appear during the warranty period,
credit or a refund will be given for the cost of the latest
injection only. Removal or therapy pruning cost is not included
in the warranty.
Elms
treated to prevent Dutch Elm disease have a warranty against
above ground or overland infections only. Any tree that is infected
via root graft is not covered by the terms of the warranty.
The only exception is if the source tree was treated by Top
Notch Treecare. There is no known chemical to protect a tree
from a root graft infection.
An
inspection by a Top Notch arborist is required to determine
the source of infection and if a refund will be applied. An
elm tree that is removed prior to an inspection will not qualify
for a refund.
